MADE WITH LOVE. MADE WITH PEOPLE IN MIND.
Ethical manufacturing is something we feel very strongly about at Plant Faced Clothing.
When we say that our pieces are made with love, for you to love, we really mean it.
We choose production partners with established standards around working conditions, labour rights and responsible manufacturing. Our production partners include facilities that participate in recognised workplace and social-compliance programmes such as Fair Wear and WRAP.
FAIR WEAR & WRAP
Fair Wear Foundation and WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) are independent organisations that work with clothing and manufacturing businesses around workplace and social standards.
Their programmes address areas including working conditions, labour rights, health and safety, working hours and minimum working age.
Where our manufacturing partners participate in these programmes, this forms part of the information we consider when choosing who we work with.
We think that should be pretty basic stuff.
But unfortunately, it isn't always.
PEOPLE MATTER
The people who make our clothes matter just as much as the people who wear them.
We don't want to compete on price by looking for the cheapest possible production at any cost. We want to work with established manufacturing partners and pay attention to the standards and conditions behind the products we sell.
We know that no certification or programme can make a complicated global supply chain perfect. What we can do is choose our partners carefully, ask questions, and be specific about what we know.
VEGAN FROM THE START
Plant Faced is a vegan clothing brand, and avoiding animal-derived materials has been at the heart of what we do since the beginning.
We wanted to make vegan clothing that didn't look like vegan clothing - clothes with good design, a sense of humour and the occasional message hidden in plain sight.
Because caring about animals doesn't mean you have to dress like a walking lentil.
WHY IT MATTERS
We know that safe working conditions, fair treatment and respect for workers should be a given in any fashion company.
They shouldn't be selling points.
But until they are universally a given, they're something we'll continue to care about.
We're an independent brand, and we've always tried to make decisions with human rights, animal rights and responsible production in mind - rather than simply chasing the lowest possible price.
No beings exploited.
Animals, humans, or plants.
